VCI plastic film is an application form of VCI technology, it is a special functional film core technology that is vapor phase corrosion inhibitor technology.
Vapor phase corrosion inhibitor is also called a vapor phase rust inhibitor, it is a special kind of chemical substance. It has sublimation or volatility at normal temperature and has a suitable vapor pressure.
The vapor that it volatilizes will passivate with the metal after reaching the metal surface, thereby reducing or inhibiting metal corrosion and protecting the metal.
VCI plastic film is a protective inner packaging material made by adding vapor phase corrosion inhibitor to the plastic film in a specific way.
It is mainly used for rust-preventing packaging of metals and their products. The main manufacturing process is:
VCI compounding and pretreatment——Surface modification of VCI——Functional additives, additives mixing, dispersion——Granulation——Plastic particle mixing——Blown film.


Anti-rust mechanism of vapor phase anti-rust film:
The VCI uniformly dispersed in the plastic film continues in the packaging space. The corrosion inhibitor vapor is slowly volatilized and reaches a certain concentration in the packaging space.
After the corrosion inhibitor vapor volatilizes to the metal surface, it physically or chemically adsorbs the metal ions. Then, by changing the electrode potential of the metal surface, the PH environment, etc., forming a complex film or a passivation film to achieve the purpose of preventing metal corrosion.
Since VCI is volatilized in a gaseous state, there will be VCI wherever there are voids. Therefore, the use of VCI anti-corrosion film to package metal products is not limited by the geometric shape of metal products, even if there are cavities, pores, gaps, or more complex structures.
VCIF will also give full play to the role of rust prevention, which can protect the metal well and prevent rust without touching the metal.
